DeLand, FL – Pedestrian Fatally Struck and Run Over on U.S. 92

DeLand, FL (October 21, 2025) – A 51-year-old Deltona man was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident on U.S. 92 east of Calle Alto Vista on Sunday, October 19. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking north across the westbound lanes of the highway just after midnight when he was struck by a vehicle’s side mirror, causing him to fall onto the roadway.

Multiple vehicles then ran over the victim as they continued westbound without stopping. Troopers confirmed that the man was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
