Volusia Co., FL – Man Killed in Multi-Vehicle Hit-and-Run on US-92

Volusia County, FL (October 19, 2025) – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that occurred just after midnight on Sunday, October 19, on U.S. Highway 92 near the DeLand Municipal Airport. Troopers reported that a 54-year-old man from Deltona was crossing the westbound lanes when a vehicle’s left side mirror struck him. The impact knocked him to the ground, where he was hit by several other passing vehicles. Tragically, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials confirmed that none of the vehicles involved stopped after the collision, and investigators are now searching for the drivers who fled. Authorities are urging anyone with information to call FHP at *347 or CrimeLine at 1-800-423-8477. The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending family notification.
